Talking 2.7T S4 engine in a B6?

Has anyone ever installed the 2.7T B5 S4 engine in a B6 A4? I'm pondering the possibility of it. That was such a great engine and I dont want the V8. Just a thought.

think about getting a 2.0 conversion and BT. possibly BAT? Consider what trans you have, and supporting mods required

I'm thinking about doing this conversion also.

Does anyone know which manual transmission the s4 motor will bolt to? In 2002+ they had 1.8t, 2.8or3.0( cant remember which ) . Also, which engine cradle would be needed? I'm not scared of the wiring. Give me the wiring diagrams and anything is possible

Fak the swap. If you're looking for a power increase do a 2.0 stroker and a 3076r/3582r. Less money and properly built comperable power. Plus 28mpg

if you prefer the 2.7tt over the v8, then with all that money you'll spend on doing the swap, you can just buy the new s4, 3.0 v6 supercharged.

I don't know why everyone thinks this swap would cost so much.

You buy a higher mileage B6 for $6k, then sell the motor and misc. Get a S4 engine for $1500 and $500 in misc. So for $7500-8000 you have the car and drivetrain bolted in. Then its a matter of wiring. All that is free

Someone answer these questions for me:

Is there a structural difference allowing for wider/smaller motors between the 1.8T cars, and the 3.0 cars?

Also, which transmissions will interchange ? I'm assuming the 3.0 6spd will bolt onto the 2.7t. What about the 1.8t manual ?

The reason everyone thinks this swap costs a lot is because it does. Folks here aren't the first ones to think of it. It has been done. It costs a fortune.
As said, comparable numbers with a lighter car if you just stroke to 2.0 and go big on the hot side.
There is so much more to it than dropping in an engine.
Go to audizine.com and do search there. It's been covered over and over again for like 6 years.
If you wanna try, go for it. But you might as well second mortgage the house.
