sorry Howe- i meant the "Check" button- im not sure why the wrench was the first thing that popped into my head. and yes- the wrench is the service interval check.

 

The red blinking lamp means thre is no oil pressure and you should not run the engine. However it could also be due to a bad oil pressure sensor or wiring problem. You may want to verify the oil pressure with a mechanical test gage.

 

Just a follow up. I had to take the car to the dealer because it needed a new ignition coil (found out after they had it already). They cleared the codes and it hasn't appeared since. I've probably driven 2,000 miles since then. So I think it's alright. They read the codes and didn't say anything to me about the light.

Now I have to fix my exhaust which decided to fall.
