I just bought an 03 Audi A4 3.0L after insurance totaled my 03 1.8t after a hail storm.

Anyways, I wanted to just get any general insight you can offer about the 3.0.

Also...
We bought the car As-Is from a dealer auction, and it has an engine vibration throughout the whole car when idling and especially off the start. In addition, Reverse is almost non-existent unless you really really jam it in there, using a lot of force. Is it possible these two issues are related and could be solved with a clutch replacement and flywheel?

If so, any online suggestions where to buy a clutch kit from?

 

the clutch/flywheel very well could be causing the vibrations. the only way to know for sure is to take it out and look. Could be cracked or broken or even chunks missing, i've seen it all.
You could also have a misfire, any cel? pull the coils, the one that makes no difference is the bad one.

 

I think is the clutch, because you cannot put your reverse in that easy. How many miles?

 

I don't think it's a misfire because there aren't any engine codes but I think we are gonna try pulling some coils today.
The common thread seems to be the clutch, so now we just gotta find one, and find someone who can do it.
Anyone in COlorado know a good, inexpensive mechanic?

I think it has around 70 or 80000

Welp, we ordered the new clutch and dual mass fly-wheel and it's coming next week. Thanks for all the input from everyone.
Hopefully that fixes it.
