2003 CCM or BCM diagnostic & replacement tips?
Hi all,
I have a 2003 Audi A4 Quattro and am having a number of problems. I could use your help diagnosing which part of the car is broken and if I can fix it myself without the Audi dealership. The moon roof drain was clogged so water pooled in the drivers side feet areas. I am trying diagnose whether my problems are due to a broken Body Control Module or a Comfort Control Module. Please help! My car's symptoms: Things that don't work: - windows - interior lights always on - battery drains - Temperature controls (doesn't work at all, always off) - key fob no longer works with locks - electronic locks Things that do work: - front lights - lights in speedometer area - electronic seat movement (forward/backward & up/down) - locking driver's side door with key Thinks I have not tested: - windshield wipers - blinkers - audio system 1. I looked youtube and saw that the Comfort Control Module is under the driver's side foot area, so I am guessing this is probably what it is - but I have also seen online that they symptoms might also indicate that this is a Body Control Module issue. Can you diagnose if it is the BCM or CCM from my list of symptoms? 2. Can I buy a used replacement module to replace the broken one? 3. Does a replacement BCM or CCM need to be programmed by a dealer or is it "plug and play"? Thanks for your advice! Olivia |
