Default 2005 1.8T Q Ultra Sport - good price?

Hi All,

My first Audi is now gone, lost it because of a small engine fire and now I'm looking to get another. I found a 05 1.8T Q Ultra Sport with 85k miles on it, the dealer is asking for $13,500. As far as I know and the dealer knows, the timing belt and h2o pump have not been replaced, so that's something that I will need to have done should I decide to go with this car.

There are also a few scratches, but not many on it. Just wondering what your thoughts were and if this is a decent price for the model and mileage?

THanks!

As far as blue book value goes its right on the money, but it depends on what its worth to you. If you feel its worth less because of the timing belt ask 11k for it, or you can tell them you will pay full price if they take care of the timing belt and water pump for you. It depends on how good of a negotiator you are.

Sounds a little high to me. Used luxury cars are not selling well. I bought a 2003 A4 3.0Q MT6 two years ago, 69k miles, for $13k from a private party. That trim level goes for $4-5k more than the 1.8T when new. At a minimum, either have them do the TB for that price or knock of $1000-1500 so you can get it done yourself. Negotiate low -- you can always increase your offer.

yeah i think thats a little on the high side even for an ultra sport. you could probably find a much lower mileage one for only a small price dif

Default too much

Back in July '09 I bought a 2005 A4 with a 1.8t quattro and the 6 speed manny with only 48K miles. I paid less than 15k for it. Like Auditech said some where around 11K would be the most I would pay for it, that is assuming it is in good condition and all.

Thanks for the feedback everyone, I still have to talk to the dealer to see if they can do the timing belt and the h2o pump ... then I can decide.
