Default Another Audi A4 owner

Hello all,

So, after being on several different car forums now - I think it's time to join Audiforums with my new car.

So, best to start with the car - A 2004 (53) plate Audi A4 2.0 FSI Sport. It has 1 previous owner and Full Audi Service history at a shocking 102,000 miles.

Everyone likes pictures, so I have uploaded some below - (Ignore the smashed in discovery next door, it seems I'm not the only one having a bad week!)

What started out as a great car suddenly developed an Intermittent issue. The standard issue of 'Oh look no power and an epc light at 4,500rpm'. So out came VCDS.....

3 Faults Found:

17479 - NOx Sensor (G295) Heater Control: Implausible Signal

P1071 - 004 - No Signal/Communication

17912 - Intake Air System: Leak Detected

P1504 - 008 - Implausible Signal - Intermittent

17428 - Fuel Pressure Regulation: Control Range Exceeded

P1020 - 008 - Implausible Signal - Intermittent

The intermittent issue then turned into a 'bigger issue' as it occured at 2,500rpm making driving fun. The car is now in bits waiting on parts to arrive.

Not the best opening few lines from a new member but hey - I hope for some better posts in the future.

Many thanks,

Did you ever fix this? I have a very similar problem: EPC comes on momentarily when engine is under a lot of load. A pain on the motorways.

Fault codes:

17479 p1071 004 nox sensor not communicating - permanent
17480 p1072: nox sensor heater doesn't work - permanent
17428 p1020: sporadic fuel pressure exceeded
17912 p1504: sporadic air intake fault

similar to yours...

Thanks!
