Default Another hid problem thread

Okay so I got some hid headlights from hidextra.com. They are put in, I have two sets of capacitors per bulb on the low beams and one set per bulb on the high beams. I also tried grounding out the low beam bulb on the drivers side to get rid of the canbus problem with the air bag, abs, and brake light all popping up on the dash. I have tried all of this and the problem is still not solved. What more do I have to do to get these to work?

I knew about the resistor issue but could it be that the lights are popping on the dash for a separate issue? or that maybe you soldered the caps wrong on the circuit? I haven't personally done this and have only read it, I think Pa4ul has something done to his headlights so maybe he could chime in.

the lights popping on are related to the HID install. the reason the lights come on is because of the voltage drop during initial bulb warmup. there is feedback that is sent through the car.

did you try grounding the HID Ballast to chassis? I had same issue with aftermarket HID. I tried the capacitors, HID relay harness. nothing. only thing with capacitors is the esp/brakelight/abs stayed on when i first installed it. i let it sit there turned on thinking it would adapt. finally i turned the car off and on and it didnt happen all the time. there were some instances that it would. the other issue i had was the climate control module would reset. like in the center dash the climate control would turn off and back on.

when i did the HID RELAY HARNESS, the problems above were resolved, however i got multiple BULB OUT WARNING Lights.

at this point i gave up and took them out because the constant beeping on startup was annoying.

How do I go about grounding the ballast to the chassis? This is the last thing I'm going to try and then I'm about done. You are correct. It's annoying as hell

is the ballast plastic or metal? if its metal, get some copper tape and tape a wire to it and the other end of the wire put it on a bolt or something
