APR Chip Octane Question
Sure. If you have a non-engine related problem and they have no reason to flash your car for anything, then there is no reason for them to look at your ECU or question it.
Some dealers are cool and know but don't care.
But watch out if you ever have any problem engine or ECU related. It isn't too hard for them to find out.
At a minimum in some cases, they can reflash your ECU and ditch all your programming. In which case you have to get re-flashed from your chip dealer (usually is free when that happens).
But yeah, it isn't THAT hard for a dealer to determine that you're chipped. The stock chip program may work if they just test drive it or are doing something that doesn't really require a thorough look-see. As soon as they get in to in-depth check ups, it isn't so hard to figure out.
The only true way is to have a spare stock ECU and no immobilizer problems.

You should've taken advantage of the offer APR had a few weeks ago. Buy 2 programs get the rest free. I got my ECU fully loaded. Stock(TO REMIND me how slow it was) Valet (almost useless but might as well have it) 93 (I've NEVER put lower than 93 since that's all BP and Shell offer) and 100 octane modes. I also got the Security LockOut, Throttle body alignment and Fault Code Ereaser. I bet your suffering MPG's with 89 and weaking your internals. Plus anally weaker performance. None make a difference but you drive a damn Audi for pete's sake! Leave that for Acura or Lexus owners. Get 93/100. You'd be happy when you hit the track!
Yeah it was a great deal. I got $1,300 worth of software for $700. Although I kinda regret it cuz I'm toying with the idea of a B5 S4 or B6. I might sell the ECU seperately since its fully loaded and start all over with the newer Audi. APR is the way to go for B6's. I think GIAC's more aggresive programming belongs in the pre-AWM engines.
ya... im still trying to figure out which is best for my B7, but i think im going to go with APR as well just because the have a certified dealer about 45 min away from my house so that way if i have any problems i can just call them... seems like the logical thing to me
