I got the APR stage 1 chip last week- love it! The car finally feels sporty. I got 4 programs on the ECU and the security lockout feature.
First, can someone please tell me how to securtiy lock/unlock? I have the 2005 A4 1.8T quattro with the cruise stalk. The guy who installed the chip showed me but I was too excited and don't remember !

Second, if I put the car in stock mode (security locked) for my 55K service at the dealer, will he find out that i have chipped? I know he can completely reflash the ECU...
Has anyone had any experience with the dealer finding out about the chip?

I don't have a chip but i have a 2005 A4 1.8t quattro. I was thinking about getting the APR Stage 1 chip but do not want to void my warranty. So, if you get any feedback about this issue please post a reply - Thanks -Andrew-

in stock mode it is IMPOSSIBLE for them to detect an APR chip. Don't security lock it, don't valet mode it, nothing. Put it bone stock setting.

The chip/program is encrypted and transparent, even if you leave the chip in high power mode, they can't tell except by "holy **** this 1.8T MOVES" if they drive it.

I stress this is only for APR chips.

 

Ok, so I took the car in for servicing. Put it in stock mode and locked it. Did the 55K service (which cost about $600 by the way ) and the dealer didn't mention anything. So I don't think they can detect it...or they don't care...
