Audi A4 no power and popping sound

I have an Audi A4 2.4 V6 2002 automatic which has no power and there is a popping sound. It idles perfectly but when you accelerate there is no power and when it starts moving I have to change the gears manually but that also is difficult.. The engine was recently reconditioned so I am at a loss. I tried changing the plugs but it still pops. I need assistance

Coil packs? (easy to check) Maybe timing belt a tooth or two out?

The reason I say coil packs is the 2002 A6 1.8T I used to own had a bad coil pack, it idled perfectly but had no power and would pop and splutter when I was trying to accelerate.

To check the coil packs (if they are single separate packs):
Start engine

Carefully remove and reconnect the electrical connector for each coil pack ONE AT A TIME.

If the engine note changes and starts to stall, replace the connector.

Keep doing this for each connector/coil pack ONE AT A TIME.

If a pack has failed, removing and reconnecting the connector for it will have no effect on the engine:
This is the pack that has failed.

I'm only making suggestions, sure someone who knows better will be along shortly ;)
Not sure how you would check timing belt TBH.

It sounds to me like your transmission clutch might going or gone. If it were the plugs, the car would have single or multiple cylinder misfires and idle wouldn't be perfect. We could rule out a loss of compression or bent valves if you're saying it idles perfect. Timing being off (only a tooth or 2) would still allow the car to run, but it would still run with a loss of power, it shouldn't affect auto trans shifting though. I've had my experience with an auto trans going out and I know that the gears shift or stall on shifting. Check your transmission fluid first, too little or too much can cause this issue.
