B6 with a system...
Anyone who has installed RCA outputs right off the factory amp...
have you had any problems with noise out of the sub. i got a new amp and when i hooked it up, i had some nasty noise coming out of the sub..not bass but more like a "whine" or maybe a high pitched hum in between the bass. Right now nothing is wired up because I was afraid to blow the sub.
Ididn't have this at all with my old amp...but since it died on me, I don't have the option to hook it back up.

WHY? Why do I know nothing of this? Ground issue for sure. It picking up interference from the ground. Your old didnt do this because of its power draw compared to the new one. Thinking that you are talking about the rockford.
You didn't hear about it because I was more concerned about the brakes, rotors, coolant
thats the same thing zb said. I need a bigger ground. I have a tiny little wire on it now. We need to start working on a box too. Where can I get the same carpet thats in my trunk at?
when do you get work done if you're lurking the forums all day?

There are no factory RCA outputs as far as I know (I could be wrong)...
I bought this little converter from a local stereo shop. You tap into the factory amp wiring... I believe its the L Hi and Lo and R Hi and Lo. There is a DIY write up on A4mods.com...probably one in the DIY form on here too.
I have a touchscreen Clarion headunit but I didn't want to screw up the stock interior with a single din cd player. The RCA converter was ~$15. This way I didn't need to screw up the dash but could still put a sub in.
