Default Best Chip?

I tried to search for a thread like this but did not find any, so thought I would ask. I am looking to upgrade my 2002 A4 1.8T FWD ECU, and wanted to know if anybody has recommendations on which one to go with. My goal is a power boost without a significant loss in mpg or increased maintenance/wear and tear.

Thanks,

MW

I have the APR chip, it had a great outcome. Some people say its a bit aggressive but I like that. Also, you might want to choose something thats in your general area (theres a limited amount of dealers near me).

If your complaing about mpg, wear and tear, etc. Stop here and don't get chipped. Flashing the ECU will expose weak points in the car.

Actually the APR software is a lot smoother on the power. GIAC is the tuner that offers aggressive maps. GIAC spikes up top fast but usually tapers down quicker. APR smoothly rises and holds evenly

I vote APR, that's what I'm getting, no matter where the dealer is.
