Our cars are designed with whats called a diverter-valve(internal). Blow off valve (external) releases pressure into atmosphere diverter-valve recirculates the excess back into the system. No increase in performance either way you go. Our cars unlike the B5's can "learn" to run with the blow-off type but I'm not sure if its really recommended. If what you are looking for is the "whoosh" sound do the darintake mod or you can get hybrid bov's which release a certain percentage into the atmosphere and recirculate the rest to give it the "whoosh' sound. Search the threads and you will find more than enough info to give you a good idea of where to go next. Good Luck.

What you can do if you want a bigger and better sound than a DV, is go buy a nice Greddy or HKS BOV and get a reciration kit for it.. The kit will fit onto the opening of the BOV where the air exits and have the ability to re route it back to the intake.

let me know if you have any other questions...

oh and btw... if you run one of those hybrid dv's.... your ecu will detect the loss of air and will self correct it. The only downside is that you will run rich

if your ecu is self correcting, how would you be running rich?

Depening on other mods u got, it might take your ECU a couple of weeks to "self correct" itself.
When i installed my Forge 004 (BV) my exhaust note changed a LOT, i really liked that sound. But also, the gas mileage went down a bit.

There are quite a few on AZ who run Forge 004 without problems. I ran Forge 004 for about a year, with 1, 1+ and the beginning of Stage 3+. No problems, all data logs looked fine. I just couldn't stand the noise, so I sold it.
I don't think a splitter has to be used. I want to see a BOV on a B6 on mythbusters, because I have yet to see one single person with a 1.8t B6 have a problem running one, even though in "theory" they should run rich.

They only run rich when you lift off the gas for a moment and that’s it, I ran a Baileys twin piston for near on 3 years without a prob mine also re-circulated part of the air.
