Cabrio trunk flip for top down door
I don't know what else to call it so that was as close as I could get for the subject line. We got our car about three years ago as a Certified Used from a dealer. For the most part everything has been pretty good and the local dealer has been taking care of warranty issues as they arise. I only recently realized that the door in the trunk that is activated by the lever is supposed to retract all the way up and pull the platform up with it instead of just be released and still hang down. I tried to take the car in for that problem, but due to a communications breakdown, that item was overlooked. Before I make another appointment and trek back, I wondered if anyone has taken things apart to repair this thing. It seems to me that the cable itself has slipped in the anchor so although the cable is working and moving, the jacket is slipping and not pulling the door up. I tried to remove a few things but got stymied with the trunk enclosures and held off. Since I don't have any sort of service manual I can't see a breakdown of the area to see what needs to come apart and how it is all held together.
