Is a chip worth it?
I currnently drive a 1998 A4 2.8 and am considering purchasing a used 2005 A4 1.8. However, when I took it for a test drive I was somewhat turned off by the turbo delay and the initial sluggishness. Does a chip make a substantial difference? Is it worth the $ and what kind of increase in performance will it actually provide?

RE: Is a chip worth it?
Yes, best money you can spend...check APR, REVO and GIAC websites, they will provide you with all the info you need on power gains. I went REVO and have no regrets

Yes it is worth it, It brings the car back to life. I have had it done for over a year now and love every minute of it.

RE: Is a chip worth it?
By the way, anyone heard about Unitronics???

RE: Is a chip worth it?
Never heard of Unitronics. I went with REVO, and love it! The stock 1.8t is notoriously slow, but once chipped, it's pretty fast. Oh yeah... once you do decide to get it chipped, also get a new DV at the same time (I went with a Forge 007).

RE: Is a chip worth it?
I think I'm getting the bug as well...for a chip that is. Whats the MPG decrease with the REVO chip?

RE: Is a chip worth it?
APR, cheapest way to get 65 hp and 100 ft lbs tq
PM manguyen on audizine for OEM 386cc injectors much cheaper than on APRs site |
RE: Is a chip worth it?
Yeah, my question is about the MPg as well, after chipping. I am presently filling premium ( 91 or 93) and am getting 24 city, 33+ on the highway. Assuming my driving style doesn't change much after chipping, would my mileage stay aprroximately the same?
