Clicking (relay) noise under LOAD - Tick Tick Tick
Hi,
Car is a 2004 A4 Wagon 1.8t automatic quattro. When I accelerate, there is a clicking noise coming from under the dash on the driver side somewhere. It will not "tick tick tick" when I rev the car at Park or in Neutral. The click noise is heard only when I press the gaz pedal, as soon as I release, no more "click click click..."
Everything is working A1, no hesitation, no faulty electronix etc...
Anyone has an idea ?
Thanks

RE: Clicking (relay) noise under LOAD - Tick Tick Tick
Hi,
The noise is coming from the inside. I notice something today, WHILE I am acceleratin (pressing the pedal), if I touch the brake pedal, just a very very very light pressure, it will stop the clicking sound... If I press to hard, the Ecu will cut the power out.
Thanks

Hi--This thread started a couple years back but I'm revisiting since I'm getting a similar problem. No other warning lights, just an annoying "clicking" sound coming from beneath the dash. It sounds similar to an electrical solenoid click--so I'm guessing it's an electrical issue. It doesn't seem to affect performance, but it's definitely related to pressure on the gas pedal and the sound becomes more frequent with slight pedal changes. Anyone else come across this and/or have a fix? Thanks in advance.

So what you can do check all the electronics work, radio, wipers, washer bottle, lights, blinker, hazards, fogs, cigarrette lighter, sunroor, windows... Something like that could be either the dashboard or the steering wheel controller.
Another more radical way of troubleshooting is to take the fuses out one by one to see if the noise stops at one point, but be carefull as one of the fuses might cause a diferent failure.
