Cold air intake?
Im thinking about getting the Audi A4 (B6) 1.8T Carbon Fiber Cold Air Intake System:) any advice or any other intakes u would perfer?
-thanks |
honestly ur best bet is to get a drop in k&n filter or those blue filters. and just stick with the stock airbox. It provides a sufficent amount of air to the powerplant. If u want to achieve more sound out of your turbo u can pull the airbox out and take out all the sounddeadening material and that will increase the noise level of the turbo.
what do you mean more turbo noise? like hearing it spool??
can i pull the sound deading without replacing the stock intake?
My advice
i just put the carbonio on my B6 1.8T and not saying that its a bad unit, but after i installed it i dont care for it. it does make allow you to hear your turbo spool up but the part that i dont like is that when you release off the gas you hear a noise thats verry simular to a BOV and to me it sounds like a Japanise car. so my next audi i wont do an intake. if you can try to find someone in your area that has one on a turbo audi/vw b4 u buy to see if u like it.

[QUOTE=4rings4life;1330558]it sounds like a Japanise car.QUOTE] what do u mean by that:confused: and how long have u had this intake? and any others u would suggest?
-thanks |
yes turbo spool. And the sound deadening material is inside the airbox where the filter goes. 4rings4life are u still on the stock dv or u aftermarket.
so to remove the sound deading im guessing i have to take out the intake which i can do and then what?
just strip out the sound deadening material that is inside the airbox go buy a k&n filter or whatever highflow filter of ur choosing and thats bout it. Just drop it in and ur good to go
is there a k&n filter u would perfer? or other?
