Hey guys. I'm looking into a 2005 A4 convertible. It appears to be the CVT and not a quattro. A little over 100,000 miles. I'd love to get some feedback on a couple of questions.

1 - What should be my major concerns with this car? I understand being an Audi that maintenance will be higher, but what are the big ticket things I should worry about with a 2005 with 100k?

2 - The car has a Texas salvage title. The seller claims it was vandalized with someone doing damage to the top and stealing the factory radio. This was done prior to his purchase, but they replaced the top and had a new factory radio installed. Does this seem legit? Would Texas issue a salvage title for this? The AutoCheck report still shows "REBUILT/REBUILDABLE SALVAGE" as of the last registration. When I go to register this in Oklahoma, is there a way to have this cleared so it has a clean title? I understand it will always show on Carfax and all, but can I make it a clear title going forward? If not, how will it affect me if it continues as a rebuilt/rebuildable salvage?

3 - He is asking $8500. I would hope I could get him down some. What do you think is a fair price for this car? What would you hope to get it for to feel it was a good deal?

Anything else you feel I should know before buying this car would be helpful.

I would have a PPI done at a local Audi dealership prior to purchasing.
