AUDI A4 - 2004 - Mileage 60,259 (Precertified, bought at 24,000 Miles).

Coolant Leaking indicator came up, when I took to the dealer they charged me with following additional issues.

1) Replace coolant plug
(parts - $53.5) (Labor Charge - $435) - Total $488.4

2) Transmission fluid leaking from rear trans seal
(parts - $42.59) (Labor Charge - $360) - Total $402.59

3) Leaking oil front cam
Total $724.00

Total charges came to $1614.99. This is the first time I took the car for my own maintenance after expiring the 50,000 miles free maintenance warrant. I am so shocked to see these many issues. What the heck is this? What kind of precertified checks are they doing on the vehicle. I could not believe the dealer could not fine any of these issues before and suddenly all these came up. After all only 60,000 miles ????

Is this dealer a complete ripp off???

 

It all depends on the dealer. Some are good and some just want to screw you over. The dealership I took my car to wanted to charge me $600 in labor for a job that I did myself in about 15 minutes.
