Coolant Line
Hello
I have a coolant line that goes from the back of the tank down to the engine and where it connects to the engine it has a small amount of white where coolant has burned. It will occasionally leave a very small puddle of coolant after a long drive. Where this line enters the engine, is there a sensor that it goes on or a gasket/oring that could be leaking? I have included a link to a picture of what I am talking about.

I thought the coolant sensor was more on the other side of the engine? This is on the driver side. I am going to check and replace the temp sensor also because I am occasionally/recently getting a leak that is dripping on the exhaust on that side and evaporating/smoking. It's not leaking enough to need to refill the coolant yet, so I know its a small leak, and the temp guage seems to be operating correctly and the engine isn't running hot and doesn't feel hot after driving for a while.
Just bought the car used a few months ago, and have been chasing down all the little things like this, while learning about Audi.

there are two coolant sensors. ONe near the intercooler coming out of the radiator. U can use that one to easily flush the system if u ever need be. The other is a pain to get too and tends to leak cuz the oring gets worn. Also a spot that leaks in that area is the coolant flange which will leak onto the tranny and exaust. U might see puffs of smoke from the firewall while at idle.
Does the 3.0 V6 have the same flange on the back? The drawing I recently found, which I will include, shows the coolant temp gauge sensor that usually attaches to the flange is attached to a rear coolant pipe. I have found the hose that I included on the picture from the original post, which shows a hose, connecting piece and a seal. I haven't located where to find the exact part yet and I need to see if its the hose or the seal under the connecting piece.

I also get a small drip that burns off around where the coolant sensor o-ring exists or the o-ring labeled 7 in the rear coolant pipe. I am going to try to locate it this weekend.
