Crap. Am i screwed? Coolant Flange bolt Snaps off in bolt. 2002 audi a4 b6 1.8t fwd
In general, ive always had issues with the coolant flange. In the past all i had to do was take it off and re-seat the o ring, but this time didn't go so well.
As i tightened down the bolt it completely snapped. I'm hoping when i take it off tomorrow it will be enough for me to vise grip and crank off, but, i doubt that's the case.
It's just pouring coolant out. I know how to switch the coolant flange out and intend to here shortly.
So what do i do about the snapped bolt now?
Please and thank you in advance.

It depends on how much of the stud is left on there. I had that happen on a thermostat housing on an old blazer, and picked up a set of stud extactors. They fit over the remaining stud and pull tighter as you begin to unscrew them. They work better than vice grips.. Similar to this, but got mine at Sears I think Bolt Extractors - Tools - IRWIN TOOLS

I had the same thing happen to me on my 1.8T. It snapped off flush, and there isn't room for extractors or anything back there. What finally worked for me was to use a dremmel tool with a flat cutting blade. Then I cut a small slit in the bolt (and I'm sure a little in the head of the engine itself) and used a small flat head screwdriver and simply just unscrewed it from there... With the head of the bolt snapped off, there isn't any torque on the stud. Just a thought, and it worked like a miracle for me.
