Crazy Electrical Problem
My son has his 02 A4 1.8 Quattro at school, and the battery went bad after the car sat for a couple of weeks. He and his brother tried to jump start the car a few times, but it would not keep running. They pulled the battery, and had it checked. It only had 7.5 volts, and no cold cranking capability. He bought a new battery, but after installing it, his hazard flashers are on running at a very quick speed. If you push the hazard button, they slow to normal speed. The stability control light is also staying on. Other than this, the car seems to run correctly. He tried pulling each fuse one at a time, but nothing would stop the flashers from racing. Does anyone have any idea of what he may have done to his car. Thanks in Advance.
So other than the possessed hazards lights, everything is ok after the battery change? If so, I'd look into replacing the hazard switch. I couldn't find a DIY for a B6, but here's a DIY for a B5, which may be close enough to help you.
