Default Driver side leather cracking!

Hi all,

I just have a simple question about my leather seat on the

Drivers side. It may be the habit of how I get in my car and out

But the left edge of the driversside leather has a rip just under the

Stitches, is it expensive to replace the bottom part of the seat or

Are there any alternative ways to fix it?

And one more question, my mom keeps complaining about how slow

This a4 1.8t quattrocento is slow compared to a vw golf 2.0tdi (140hp)

That's what's she used to drive in Korea. But I personally think with the

30hp difference that it simply can't be faster in high rpms cuz it loses

The torque. Any ideas on which car might be faster when doing 0-400m or

0-100km?

One more question, sorry xD is it dangerous to use rpms over 5000

On the 1.8t? I like to use high rpms and someone told me that it's never

Good if you use rpms over 5000...

Thanks in advance for your tips!

If you slide your a$$ over the side bolsters when entering/exiting the car, they will eventually crack and tear. If you plop your butt into the center of the seat and swivel, less damage.

There shouldn't be any problem revving the 1.8T to 5,000rpm and above. I'm sure you don't want to abuse you engine every day, but if you need the power push it.

OUr cars are slow period. They are heavy and sluggish in handeling. What did u expect purchasing a luxury sedan with a small engine. Best bet to get a bit more power outta ur engine is to chip it. That will bring it up to par with an average cars power.

No I personally don't think it's slow at all, what I was wondering was why my mom could possibly think that the golf is much faster than the a4. The one reason why I haven't chipped my a4 is because I personally think that if a third party tuner could get another 50hp out of the same engine just by chipping it, why didn't Audi do that in the first place? I personally think that if I do chip my car, there will be reliability issues on my power train even though they say it won't hurt a bit.

I have the same issue on my 03 a4 3.0 driver side seat. for now to subside and to prolong my leather i used a think cloth while driving the car. it sucks cause they are very expensive to fix or to replace. good luck bro.

audi left the 1.8 where it was for a base line sedan. U want more power buy the more expensive model. IT wouldnt make sense to have to different engines with the same power while one is cheaper then the other. AS for chipping and modding go the 1.8 quattro can handle a load of power if done correctly. IF u run a cvt best bet is to stick with smaller mods. U got a tip then go crazy with it. Some guys pushing the 400 mark on 1.8t.

Even after the chip I found the car still to be sub-par in performance. With a curb weight of over 3500lbs for the Quattro 1.8T, it's surprising that these cars move at all

I wouldn't worry about reliability after the chip, I've put over 60,000kms on my car since I had it done and I haven't had any issues. I'm also fairly hard on the car as well.

After the chip, injectors, K&N, the car is "acceptable".
