Hey guys,
Wondering if anyone can help me with this. Here are the symptoms
1. Coolant Temp will not creep over the half mark between 50 and 90
2. Rad fans come on when engine is cold
3. I Discinnect and reconnect the battery and the rad fans will turn off but the coolant temp stays low. After a few days the rad fans are back to doing the same thing again
This all happens at the same time. I've heard of over heating but overCOOLING??? LOL
Only in an Audi sheesh!! So what do you guys think???? Engine Coolant Temp Sensor (ECTS), or the thermostat.
If it's the Thermostat, where is it located and can I get at it easily???? I'd like to do the work myself and save myself a huge repair bill so if anyone can help that would be GREAT!!!!

The ects is behind the engine (basically in front of the battery) I believe there is a combination valve above it that you have to more out of the way. What color is it? The non-green ones are the problematic ones (or so I've been told.) I will sell you mine if you want it.
