Same Type of issue!!!
I saw that this forum is old but I was hoping to maybe get an answer. I have a 2002 1.8t that is an automatic and I have a very similar problem to his car. Car cranks but won't start and the fans kick on without the key even being in. My OBD won't read codes because of same link error. I know the B6's have a problem with water getting into the ECM box and frying the relay and was hoping that's what it is. Already sent to an Audi mechanic and said he couldn't figure it out. Any answers would be helpful!!!
