Hello, I have a 2003 A4 1.8t quattro and was driving it the other day and stopped to get gas, the car wouldnt start, all it was doing was it would tick once and after about 15 minutes of this it started. About 10 miles down the road the battery indicator came on and all of the interior lights started flashing and systems started shutting down until finally only the brakes and hazard lights worked. I get the car towed to a Pep Boys which was the only place around and they test it and says all it needs is a new battery, which I was very skeptical about. I get the new battery installed and drive the car for about 40 miles and the same thing happens. It dies again and I get it towed up to my mechanic and they say it is the alternator so I get a new one installed. Then the same exact thing happens after driving it for about 30 minutes. What could it be that is wrong with the car? Something could be shorting out I guess. Also the CEL has been on but stays on for a couple days and will go off for a couple days so I figure it is just a sensor but this electrical issue is becoming a very serious problem.
