Default Engine mount recommendation

I just recently bought a '03 1.8t quatro a4 and the drivers side engine mount seems to be going out. I was just wondering if anybody has any recommendations for where I can get a solid replacement part instead of buying one from audi for $200. Also, is it worth replacing the passenger side since as well since the drivers side just went out?

I noticed there was an oily substance leaking from the drivers side of my car but it was not oil, so I brought the vehicle into audi and had them confirm that it was hydraulic fluid leaking from the engine mount. They told me that engine mounts will start to leak fluid when they need to be replaced and also said it was a very rare problem.

I have not purchased it yet but I am going to order my pas side one from ECS. I think it as about $90 plus shipping. Total was around $100. Just waiting till I gather up a few other things before I place my order. I would agree that your mount is bad btw.

If you see a liquid susbstance leaking from your motor mounts it is a sign of the mount going bad. I just purchased a set of 034 Street density motor mounts for my 2002 Audi S4 from speedlife motorsport. The cheapest I found online. And heard nothing put good reviews on these mounts. If I where you I would do it right and replace both mounts. Since you will never know if, the other mount will go bad soon.

Does anyone have a link for a how-to on replacing the mounts? The drivers side mount on my A4 B6 is going out also.

Well the fluid would be an obvious indication..... lol

You have to be able to support the engine when removing. Passenger side isn't going to be easy because of the turbo
