I got raped and ended up with an Lltek after Evoms sent the wrong one. Twice.[:@]

RE: EVOMS intake
I was at EVO a few months back and the guy helping me said they were going to be releasing a new intake that soemhow optimized and possibly accelerated the airflow...I cannot remember the full rap he gave me, but said they found a way to get a few horsies out of it. We'll see.

RE: EVOMS intake
It's just a U pipe with a cone filter, it's worse than the stock airbox because it sucks in hot air. Why pay close to 300 bucks for something that increases intake temps and decreases performance?
If all you want is the sound get a 3 inch U from home depots plumbing supplies and a $15 cone filter, a couple if clamps and be done with it. or skip the U and just put a freakin cone filter on your maf and call it a day. It's essentially the same thing at that point |
RE: EVOMS intake
This is kinda an old post, but everyone is quisk to talk ten pounds of crap about the evo intake. By way of power, right, not much gain. However my gas milage went thru the roof. I bet that thing has paid for its self by now.
It does come with a rather good heat shield and if you leave the OEM air duct on it will funnel outside air straight to it. Just a little positive note about it if you are thinking about getting one. |
RE: EVOMS intake
The heat shield is only to keep the heat from the manifold form ruining the intake. The temp the intake draws in doesnt make a diff after the turbo compresses the air. Also the reason the Evoms cost so much is because its uses a velocity stack inside the filter which does allow the intake to draw in more air. However the turbo isnt large enough to gain much of anything from an intake since the box flows far enough air for the tiny turbo.
If you want a velocity stack intake, you can get a bpi stack and k&n filter for under $100. |
