Fuel Filter
ok i took my car to change the fuel pump becuz of that humming sound plus the pump gave out but the sound is still there, i looked and saw what looked like a fuel filter also but every time i go to the auto parts store to order a filter they say the filter comes integrated with the pump...
idk so imma take it back to the mechanic and see whats up, but like i said its that humming sound and i do think if i leave it its going to destroy my pump again....
i have a 2004 Audi a4 1.8t so i dont know what else to say about it

im quoting myself, but can anyone tell me if there is a fuel filter on the 2004 a4 1.8 models... and if so would the humming sound go away becuz i already installed a new fuel pump??
you should have a filter, every car has a fuel filter, what you can do is that go to your car and get under it the passenger side where the rear door is and youll be able to see it.. look at the diy web that i pasted on the last respond if you dont have any idea where is located.
they are telling you they dont have them because they are just reading off a computer. there are many different ones for our cars and they dont want you to bring back a greasy filter that you tried putting on. Have to order one from the dealer.
I dont know what kind of auto store do you go and what they tell you but for you to make sure if you need it or not take the VIN number and go to the dealer and ask them about the filter.
