Unhappy Help-timing belt or timing sensor

I have a 2002 A4 1.8 Turbo with 65000 miles-it shut down at 55 mph suddenly-made funny noise almost like a car horn, starter turns but does not engage the flywheel. I now have codes P0341 & P0139-both seem to point to Cam sensor. Has the timing belt broke and what are the chances of valve/piston damage?

The starter turns but does not engauge the flywheel? So the engine does not move when when the starter is engauged? Does the engine turn over by hand? Undo the 2 clips at the top of the timing cover & take a peak.
Yes to the second question. If the belt broke , you will have bent valves.
