My roommate found on a different forum that the Audi Symphony's have a hidden equalizer but couldn't find it when we messed with it.

Any info?

 

Like if you hit the "tone" button?

 

I think its the menu setting. You cna fool with the loudness setting or some such.

Saw it on AudiZine in the easter egg thread. Its not much of a setting change.

 

There was a post a few years ago in the A6 forum about a hidden set up for the Bose. I can no longer remember, but I think I tried the button sequence and nothing happened so it could be model/year specific.

 

We tried the button sequence as well and got no where, thanks.

 

hold menu button for 5 seconds pulls up the extras. Other then that i dont know of any other equalizeer. ON bose stereos this step makes a world of difference.

 

does it matter if the radio is on or off?

 

You can't access the hidden equalizer, its only on Sympthony 1 modes on the B5 A4. The sympthony 2 models can't do it. How you would access it is by pressing and holding the number 5 button while turning it on, this would have brought up a 555555555 indicating the equalizer is set to a flat setting.

 

ah, yeah I have the B6, which would explain why it didn't work.

 

hold the menu button for 5 seconds with the radio on and it will bring up "hidden" settings. The only useful one is the max volume control, it goes up to 15 and it set at 10 from the factory.
