I dont know. I've heard you can do it only at Dealer.
Idropped my key in the elevator (inside that hole) so now i'm using my second key but it doesnt work from the distance, only when you put a key inside.

I think its something like press the unlock, put the key in the ignition and turn it on (not start) then press the lock button. I know its something simple like that.

Page 54 of owners manual, if you have it, say’s…

- If the vehicle is locked, open the door with the mechanical key in your remote control
- Press the “unlock†button on the remote
- Insert the key into the ignition and turn to the “on†position (NOT start)
- Turn back to the “off†position
- Pull key from ignition
- Press either “lock†or “unlock†on the remote to complete the reset sequence.

If you have a vag-com it's a lot easier. http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/car...-matching.html

g'luck

Default RE: how do you program your keys?

Does this also work for programming newly ordered keys from the dealership? They are charging me $100 to program the new key and I thought it might be better if I could find a way to program the key myself.

The existing key that I do have is the switchblade, but the buttons are stuck and I can't push them. I have a 2003 Q1.8T.

I've read a lot of different solutions all over the forums, but am not sure which one will work, at the same time I don't want to deprogram my existing key since it's the only one that I have.

Thanks
