how much oil does the 2003 A4 1.8t Quattro take for an oil and filter change? The owner's manual that I have says 3.7 liters for a front wheel drive, but it does not state what the Quattro takes.

thats how much i put on mine. 3.7 seems to be fine.

 

Thanks. It's amazing the the owner's manual does not specify the amount for the Quattro, and when you search the internet you find 3.7, 4, 4.7 and 5 quarts/liters.

 

You always can check it if it need more, put the car somewhere its straight and check the stick where the oil is.

 

Yes, I did that after putting in about 3.7 quarts. The dipstick read about 1/2 quart low so I added the rest of the last quart (total of 4) and called it a day. Sadly, when I bought the car used at an Autohauz, the service people could not read the dipstick and there was no manual with the car. The engine was way overfull so I made them change the oil before purchase.
