key remote help

Default key remote help

so im not stranger to batteries dying in key remotes.
but what the hell is wrong with it when u replace the battery and it still dosent work?
im just tired of using my key to get in the door.

Suggestions:
1. Make sure the battery is installed properly.
2. Get another new battery.
3. Try reinstalling the battery, several times.

i have never tried but im pretty sure you need to have the dealership program it. and i think they need the spare key too.

when you replace the battery, you have to put the key in the ignition, turn it to on, but dont start it, then while its turned to the on position, press the lock and then press unlock button on the remote. turn the key to off, pull it out and see if it works.. thats what i had to do to it when i replaced mine.

There should be instructions for adapting remote in the owners manual.

replaced battery. took it out of remote several times. tried the programing noted in manual. went to dealer and they said the reciver inside the car might be dead. and its only like 400 bux. thank god for STEALERships right? ill try the key bit. thanx so far. ill keep u guys posted.
also. wheres some websites to get OEM parts/ replacement parts. and, or mods. its auto with the CVT tranny so im not gonna do to much but any little helps i guess.

well damn, i tried everything that everyone has said to try. still nothing. is there anyway to tell if your remote is toast? ive done pretty much everything. or how can you tell if the in-car reciver is toast? dammit!

Hi there
I Have same problem. Do you know where is receiver located. I have phone for used Audi parts 1800 255 2834 with 6 mounts warranty. But I have to give them part number.

Receiver is located under the headliner in the rear of the roof.
