i want to get 2 mufflers to put on my 2003 A4 1.8t quattro. I was going to buy them then go to a murrler shop and get them put on. They need to be under $150 together. I want performance and them to be very deep and loud sounding. I have no idea what to get.

 

I really doubt you'll be able to get what you want for the price you're talking about. Good quality exhaust systems for these cars (APR or similar) run in the neighborhood of $1000, and if you want "performance," you probably need the whole system from the cat back, not just the mufflers. Also, you won't likely see a lot of performance benefit from just changing the exhaust; you'd be better off to do a chip and/or turbo upgrade first. That said, those run significantly more than $150 too.

Unless this is an emergency repair, you're probably best off to just save up your money until you can afford to do something worthwhile - a chip will net you around +40 HP over stock for $4-500.

 

You can get the magnaflow mufflers from amazon. I think its 14851 series. Then you can either cut off the old muffler and have a shop weld it up with tips (cheapest option) or have them redo all your piping with the 14851. . i would say whole setup would run under 4 bills
