Default Need help! misfiring and i want to commit suicide

i'm really about to jump off a bridge now...

my friend ran the scanner thing and i replaced all my coil packs on the drivers side of the car

the codes said misfire 4, 5, 6. i just had plugs done last year (oem NGK's)..... still have a flashing light in my face.......

what else could this possibly be? could the plugs be bad? and i can smell the heat coming off the cat so i'm sure it's not a injector/fuel problem...i don't know what to do anymore i've exhausted all options....

please help!

P.S. it use to do this off and on for a while and i would just shut the car off and let it rest and it would start up with no problems....i also tried the marty mcfly and smashed my head on the steering wheel and that didn't work either...

2002 A4 3.0 Quattro six speed
thanks

Is it still running badly? Have you tried clearing the codes?

could it possibly be the fuel rail if the whole side is bad? the car is extremely hot and it's exhaust hot too.....maybe it's not getting enough fuel?

does it studder only at idle or all the time. If its only at idle it could possible be a fuel pump or fuel related.

I would start off by doing a compression test on those cylinders which are all on one bank. Then check the fuel correction numbers using a vagcom. Swap injectors bank to bank to see if the misfire issue jumps to the other bank of cylinders.

A cylinder will misfire if it's not getting enough

A) Fuel

B) Spark

C) Air

So it has to be anything related to that. Try replacing the fuel filter and air filter. Two cheap diagnostic steps.

Has anyone check (or played with) the cam timing?
