hi, e few weeks ago when starting the car early morning when its cold, i can hear noise coming from my hood for about 10 sec, then comes after a few weeks the same thing still happens plus when i press the gas its making a different noise either from the engine or the steering when i turn my wheels while running. this week i see my battery blinking on and off it goes off when i press my gas hard enough, its getting worst though. i had my battery check already and the mechanic said its still good, one mechanic said it could be the tensioner. is it possible that it can be the accesorie tensioner assembly, chain tensioner? any thoughts and idea? can i still run my car?

 

any help from anybody? i ask one mechanic also he said if my bettery is getting affected it cant be the tensioner, its more likely to be the starter or the alternator...what do u think guys?

 

Can u describe the noise?

 

i dont know how to describe the sound, when i start the engine it sounds like a grinding noise coming from the alternator or tensioner somewhere there. and when i start driving it off its sounding like a whirring sound. anyways, my car just broke down on me on the street on my way home. i was driving and suddenly all my ligts went out, thank God i had enough power to park where its safe. how much is it going to cost me changing the alternator? starter? i live in los angeles
