this is one of the menu display options-it shows instantaneous mileage. to see your average mileage, use the button in the END of the right stalk to scroll until the desired option is displayed

Ya that's not the issue thank you though I scrolled through all of those. I'm wondering what sensor controls this so I can either clean or replace it.

i think there is a sensor inside the gas tank. But i want to see its a whole unit that senses the amount of gas in your car. Though im not sure of a way to scan to see if thats the actual problem. ?

What is giving you the faulty readings and what makes you think they are faulty? Like ILack said, the instantaneous will read from 2mpg to 200mpg depending on if you are getting on it or coasting at speed.

If you are cruising at hwy speed is the instant mpg a nearly-constant value?

If that is wrong I doubt it is a problem near your gas tank as that reading would be a combination of wheel speed and throttle level. The only value that would use the reading of the level of fuel in the vehicle would be the remaining range value.

u know what the others guys are right. I thought u were talking about your actual fuel gauge reading crazy. If u are talking about the dis reading then thats prefectly normal for ur car to do that. It is reading based on your driving habits thats why it jumps around. when u push the gas it drops low and when u crusing at highway speeds u get high numbers right?
