what vag com cable will allow me to modify settings? i found this VAG-COM KKL 409.1

couldn't get your link to work but I suspect it is a cheap knockoff cable.

if the cable doesn't say Ross-Tech on it, it is not 100% compatible with the software. you will have to use the freeware version of the software (still very good) and there will be limitations to what you can, and cannot do

with vcds lite u will be able to check fault codes though u cannot clear them. U can also go into a few modules and reset values for one touch locks speed door lock windows via fob and rest of world setting for fog lights with out low beams. Other then that if u want to do more u will need a geniune cable.
