Removing wiper assembly
Added note for future use. Recently did this job myself and found that there is a Dremel mini wire brush cone that is the perfect size for inside the spindle housing.
As noted, be very careful if you need to force the siezed spindle out of the housing. In the process I dinged up the threads of my spindle and bent the wiper frame arm. It was usable for a short time, but now I'm replacing the wiper frame which I could have just done in the first place.

I'm in the middle of this right now and I'm having a DEVIL of a time freeing the driver side spindle from the sleeve. That's clearly where I'm seized up at.
I'm trying to separate it while the wiper trans is in place because I'm having trouble clearing the wiper motor between the master cylinder, bottom of the windshield frame and the ECU.
Any pointers?

Use something(big screwdriver) to pop the arms off the ball joint at the motor. This will make it where you can move them out of the way for a little bit more clearance to remove the whole assembly. Just be very careful not to use the windshield as a leverage point. Once you have it out, use the other guys advice about not damaging the threads hammering it out. I also bent and cracked my threads as well as bent the arm. I ended up buying a new assembly.

You won't get the spindle out with the wiper frame in the car. Disconnect the electrical connecter to the wiper motor, disconnect the linkage to the wiper motor (brass nut on top, don't drop it) and be sure you take the cover off of the ECU. It's tight but it will come out.

Thanks! I got it out and everything, apart, cleaned and greased up. Working well and YES, it tight!
