Default Replacing front axles..... Questions..

OK i have a 2002 audi a4 1.8t AWD, both front cv boots are ripped and i was goin to just change the boots and repack them but might change both axles. i was on ecs tunning and they have a great price for them, now my question is are thier any DIY threads on this subject? Or maby some step by step instructions to make it go smooth. I do know my away around cars, but never worked on a german one. Ive never had to change axles on a AWD or independent suspention car before comming from solid axle cars mostly american FORD/CHEVY. any tips or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

somone also told me that the hub/axle nut was a bitch to get off and took forever, now has anyone found a trick to get this off easy. the person i talked to used a 4 foot pipe and breaker bar just to break it loose.

Too get the axle bolt out you need a 17mm alan socket and an inpack gun. If they were never off that are going to be tuff to get off without an inpack gun.

Here you go. It's for the B5 but is the same hardware down there, except for the 23mm socket, I think ours is 17...
