I run NGK BKR7E's. They are copper plugs so they go out pretty quick. I change them everytime I change my oil, but they only cost about 8 dollars for a full set. I find them to perform the best for my car.

I have a 2003 3.0L Quattro that I need to change plugs on. Can I just disconnect the coil packs from the harness and pull straight out on the coil pack itself, or do I need a tool to get them out without damage?

Thanks

Copper plugs are the best way to go on a turbo car, not sure what you have because you gave no info about what you own.

If you are chipped K03 then you want to go 1 step colder then stock.

monsterrider - yes. Just unplug it and then pull it straight up.

You need to disconnect the harness first. There are 2 T15 screws holding the harness each side. After you that, you may disconnect it from the coil packs and then pull those packs out.

For driver side, you may want to remove coolant reservoir (not remove it completely, just loose it up so you can push it aside). For passenger side you need to remove air intake, some plastic covers. Otherwise, you may not have enough room to work on it.

It's not hard but just a bit of PITA.
