Sputtering Engine...
Hey
So I had the noise from the back end of my car as well.. Turns out the fuel pump was shot. It got as bad as my car wouldn't even start anymore. Well, I got the pump replaced but the filter had to be ordered. The guy that changed my pump said he cleaned out my filter for a few mor days use until the new one came in.
Today on my way in to work, my car started to sputter on acceleration and I was getting weird noises from the back again. Could this be due to the nasty filter?

Oh, and I did have coil packs replaced 02/10 due to recall.. It kindof reminded me of that... but I would assume that once those start to screw up, moving the car to idle then back wouldn't cure the check engine light... Plus it seems to be idling just fine now....
Update:
Got fuel filter changed. Slight noise from air in system after filter change, but all gone now. Checked codes and misfire on 3 and 4 cyl. Cleared codes and drove the **** out of car for a little bit. Not engine sputtering as of yet. I will chalk it up to clogged filter...
however, I already checked with Audi to see if the replaced coil pack replaced under the recall has a warranty. They come with a 1 year factory warranty on parts and labor. It kills me to see how much people pay to keep replacing coil packs when A) They never have the recall done on the car, or B) They fail after the recall was done, and deal fails to mention there is a 1 year warranty...... If there is no sticker on the underside of your hood with a date on it and Some sort of plan number, than chances are, you are operating on old coil packs that need recalled.....
