i had 04 cabriolet that got totaled but the steering wheel had the radio controls on it..i just got a 05 a4 1.8 and it does not have the radio controls on the steering wheel which annoys me more and more every day...is it possible to change the steering wheel for one with controls on it?

You should be able to but there's a different type of harness for the airbag.
I found this write up in Audizine, the guy put the Steering wheel from a newer A4 into his car that didn't have a MFSW(Multi Function Steering Wheel)
