I think the sunroof switch has broken on my car. It must have gears inside that are plastic or something. I turn it and nothing happens and it doesn't click like it used to, it' just free turning every way I turn it. Does anyone know where I could get this part or what it is called so I can look for it? Please help, this is miserable down here in the south during Spring/Summer months. Thanks so much!

 

I'm not sure how much it is from a dealer. But I know that a4mods.com has a write-up to fix one.

The link is for when the sunroof starts to have a mind of its own. Sounds like your problem is with the ****. The gear might of slipped or fallen out of place. I would find it hard to believe that the teeth are worn down. However follow the diy to see if you can see if a spring or something broke causing the **** to spin freely. Let us know the turnout.
