Symphony Issues
 

Can anyone help me fix this please. I have the Symphony 2. When unlock the car with the key fob the radio turns on even before the door is open.

When I try to shut it off it won't. It also won't let me load cd's or use any of the buttons except two dials.

I have to turn the car on, then all the way off to get it to shut off.

It will however sporadically come back on, on it's own. I've come outside and even before I unlock the door I find that it's on.

I had a similar issue on the Symphony system. But for me the radio wouldnt turn off period. So basically killing my battery the whole night. I googled around and people said to take the fuse for the radio out and put it back in. Thats legit all I did and its been fine for an entire year now. So maybe check the fuse and see if its still good. If so, take it out, pop it back in, and see what happens. It was the cheapest fix on this car for me :) LOL

Thanks for the reply. I tried that and it worked once. Now when I pull the unit, pull the fuse in the back, it doesn't change. It just goes back to not letting me control anything except the dials and turning back on on it's own. I was thinking of either replacing it with another symphony or an aftermarket unit hoping that would take care of the issue. Any thoughts?

Maybe if you have a crappy cheap headunit laying around stick it in there for testing and see if it does the same or not. I'd hate to see you buy an expensive nice headunit and have the problem still be there.
