Smile Rough Idle...Any Ideas?

Ever since I got my car in August I feel like the car runs a tad rough. It runs at the correct rpm. I always notice when stopped at a red light or something. Any ideas what this could be. I plan on doing a tune up in the spring or summer and while I'm doing that maybe I can take care of this too. Someone on here suggested vac lines but when my bmw had a leaky vac line she would rev up and down slightly until it got pretty bad. I have a feeling its dirty injectors but I'm not sure...Any ideas? Thanks

Will it still throw a code even though the check engine light isn't on?

i doubt it.

when the engine is at normal temperature, drive in a gear so the RPMs are over 4000 for about 5 minutes.

when i'm driving on the highway and i frequently floor it to pass slow cars or semis, the idle is so smooth afterwards. after alot of city driving, the idle does get rough.

in the old days they used to say you should drive your car often on the highways to "blow out the carbon". i think the engine likes a little punishment in order to keep it honest.

any help on this? The car doesn't throw codes so why should i put a scanner on it? Is it a possible vac leak and where would be the best place to start looking for a leak?
