2002 A4 B6 3.0 100k miles

does anyone know what the amp draw is when the car is shut off? im reading 900 milliamps and wondering if thats high?

i just bought a new battery since mine died without warning one morning last week. go to start her up this morning and its dead again. got a replacement free of charge and wondering if i have a parasitic draw now or a bad alternator. alternator is original.

900 milliamps is way too high.

Are you checking vehicle after it goes to sleep?

You don't want to see more than about 50!

 

checked it after an hour and that's what the reading was.

i just pulled all the fuses (drivers side panel) and was still getting a reading of 250 ma. wtf?!?

 

Could be an alternator , ignition switch , relay. Did you try disconnecting the relays?

 

hooked up the meter to the alternator and im showing between .4 to .8 volts on the AC setting. a bad diode maybe?

i'll try the relays. where are they?
