Wheel, suspension, body advice
Looking at Hartmann RS4 DTM reps for Green '02 1.8T quattro. Can't decide whether 18 or 19" looks better - input? Tire size?
On a tighter budget but want to lower tastefully - new springs or used coilovers? Which are the best and what type do you recommend? What is the best way to get rid of the black skirt? Can you just have it painted? Front bumper suggestions welcomed, too. Thanks. |
Rs4's are a nice touch because its an OEM upgrade. Will also clear big brake kits if you upgrade in the future. 18's or 19's its up to you, but keep in mind the quality of the roads where you will be driving. Less rubber is more of a ruff ride. For springs and shocks, I recommend some H&R and Bilstein shocks, if you got the funds pick up a nice set of C.O. because you will be able to adjust them your height desired. Lowers can be painted.

depends on ur drop for rim size. I would go 19's just cuz bigger is better no matter waht anyone says. and painted lowers should cost round 3 to 5 bills.

Look in the classifieds for a nice set of used CO's. For DTM RS4's only 19's will look right IMO.

Check out VMR RS4 replicas as well. Many colors, and will clear all big brakes. I don't know anyone with the Hartmans. They looks nice, but VMR is a trusted name over at audizine.com and they've got great prices.
I've got 19'. There are plenty of pics of both sizes at a4mods.com If you track and don't have track wheels, then get 18". 19" look nice, but I wouldn't use them on the track. |
i saw a new RS4 replica that supposdly had a more concave wheel. I guess the cheap ones dont have the bend in the middle of the rim and the realdeals go in. look on zine and see if u can find that post.
