Default Winter problem

Hello all , im a not satisfied owner of a 2005 Audi A4 1.8T , every winter for the last 2 years im having always the same problem with my car , whenever the temperature is under - degrees and i go start the car right by the morning the rpms dont get high and after a while drop to the 900 like it should be , they just stay at the 900 just if the car was already warm , wich doesnt make any sense , because on the summer right in the morning i get to the car , turn it on and the rpms go up and after a minute it comes down , thats what it should happen on cold temperature isn't it , every winter i know that the engine light is gonna show up and some coil is gonna be the cause for it , and it s getting too frustaded right now , this morning i just started the car to drop my kids to school and i realize the engine light came on , i warmed the car for 10 min in my garage like i always do , i just dont know what to do , expecting for tomorrow to go to Vw for check what the light is this time .

Sorry for some errors but my first language is not English .

I have the same problem. Once in a while my 2003 1.8t Starts idling at 900rpm instead of 1100 or so where it's suppossed too.

That s exactly that , it just happens with me on winter time , on the summer and good weather as soon i start it up at the morning the rps are at 1100 and then they drop to the 900 , but on the winter no way that to happen . I just feel desperate now , everytime i go check i tell what is it , they scan the errors and end replacing the coils , wich lately for 2 times happens and i keep having the rpm like that .

In the same boat here. I seem to get the rough idle in cold temperatures. And i've had to replace a few coils because of misfires.

i would say take it to an auto store and have them scan it. then post back up with what codes are showing. Also if they mil light is flashing it is a coil. If its a solid light then its probably your cat's
